What is the difference between Auto Bid and Regular Bid?

A "Regular Bid" is a one time bid by the bidder in the exact amount. For example, if the increment is $25, and the next bid would be $75, you could bid the exact amount or anything higher; $76, $100, etc. By using the "regular bid" you are letting everyone know that this is what you are willing to pay for the item.

An "Auto Bid", which is more convenient, is when the bidder puts the maximum amount he or she is willing to pay. This does not mean that the computer will keep placing a bid for you beyond the maximum amount you are willing to pay. The bidder's amount will only be increased if another user bids against that item. If the increment is $25, and the next bid is $75, you have an auto bid of $100, it will only show $75 is the next bid. No one knows what your maximum amount is. When another user comes to bid, they will get a notice that he or she has been "outbidded" due to the autobid. The user's amount with the autobid will have increased.

At any time, if by chance you do get outbid using a regular bid or an autobid, you will receive an email if you checked the box to be notified in your registration page, and will have the option to place another bid on the item.

When can I use the promotional auction credit?

If you qualified for the promotional auction credit, you will receive an email notification. The auction credit is ONLY applicable for items won in the auction FOLLOWING the qualifying period. Customers CANNOT use the promotional auction credit within the same auction in which it was earned. Example: Customers place bids between 4pm ET on May 5th and 4pm ET on May 6th in order to qualify for a $100 auction credit. Qualifying customers will then receive an email notice on May 6th prompting them that they have earned the auction credit. At this time, the next auction event has started and ends at 4pm ET May 8th. The qualifying customers now need to bid in the new auction event to use the credit. On May 8th after 4pm ET, qualifying customers that have won items in the auction will receive a promotional code via email. This code is to be used at checkout. Promo codes do expire after 24 hours of the auction end, so customers are encouraged to check out as soon as possible. Promo codes cannot be applied to any other future or past auction events.
